Southeast Kansas Living is a quarterly magazine that has been celebrating the people, places and spirit of Southeast Kansas for more than 13 years. In each issue, find stories about Southeast Kansas’ people, events, outdoors, history, homes and gardens, businesses, restaurants, and more!

Kimber (Wenzelburger) Wallace serves as the magazine’s publisher and editor. She grew up in Girard, Kan., and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in news/editorial journalism and a minor in political science. During her time at the UA, she worked for two daily newspapers; served as editor, managing editor, assistant news editor, copy editor and senior staff writer for The Arkansas Traveler; and received writing and editing awards from the Arkansas College Media Association and Society of Professional Journalists. In spring 2010, she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and was chosen as a commencement speaker for the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.

After graduation, Kimber worked as a reporter for The Manhattan Mercury, a daily newspaper in Manhattan, Kan. In 2011, she received four awards from the National Newspaper Association and five awards from the Kansas Press Association for her work at the Mercury. She was also one of eight journalists selected to take part in the Association of Health Care Journalists’ Midwest Health Journalism Fellowship in 2010-11.
